Nah. He can withstand the coldness of space, even. He can also withstand being under the engines of a landing unmanned spacecraft. The human equivalent of this pose would be for a person to be huddled against a wall with their legs folded up against their chest and their arms wrapped around their legs. It symbolizes isolation.

He is a genius. Wall-E conveyed a variety of emotions perfectly. I was impressed. Heehee, I love how he's holding onto his treads. So cute!

I have to admit, I drew it from a reference. I didn't come up with that pose. Some people found the first half-hour boring because it had "no dialogue." Pweh! Sigourney Weaver (who did the voice of the Axiom's announcement sytem) said in an interview that someone had to tell her that there was "no dialogue" in the first half-hour! And I knew exactly what she meant because I felt the same way. Aside from sharing unique modes of communication, the droids (especially Wall-E) also express interesting forms of monologue. Wall-E, being the most obvious example, has plenty of moments where he expresses his inner...Wall-Eness.

Also notice how M-O reacts when he jumps off the light track on his quest to clean up Wall-E's treadmarks. Some think he's annoyed when he does that, but I think he actually enjoys it because it's something different from his usual routine.

Aha. Well it's a great rendition then.

Yeah, I heard that too. I think the first half was my favorite. For the same reasons that you stated. It was a beautiful piece of cinema.
