I'm not positive, but I think Captain McCrea's name might be a reference to McCrae from The Black Hole.

I could totally see that. He's been compared to Peter Griffin before (minus the political commentary). I like how all the people stand up and cheer when they see McCrea fighting Auto. :XD:

I like how they actually wanted to reclaim their self-assertiveness, inspired by Captain McCrea's example (which was indirectly inspired by Wall-E's example).

Wall-E actually was parodied on an episode of The Simpsons. He was green instead of yellow and had round white eyes with pupils like normal people-eyes. Oh, and he turned Homer into a cube. :rofl:
